You have registered to participate in an exciting hackathon, and to ensure a successful project, here are some tips on organizing your time during the hackathon’s submission period.
-
Review the requirements: Take the time to read through the hackathon site and rules to understand what the sponsor is looking for in a submission. Check for any required tools, themes, or judging criteria your idea should touch upon.
-
Organize your time: Add the submission deadline to your calendar and work backward to give yourself enough time to submit a project. Set milestones for yourself during the hackathon to help you stay on track.
-
Brainstorm: Identify possible projects that fit within the hackathon theme and requirements. Consider the problems you want to solve and research existing solutions or use cases. Compare possible projects based on effort, time, hackathon requirements, and judging criteria. Choose a project and start a draft submission on buidlbox. Note: You can edit your project as often as you like before the deadline.
-
Build, Deploy, and Test: Create a plan to tackle different aspects of your project, such as the backend, frontend/UI, submission text description, and submission demo video. If part of a team, assign people and due dates for each item on the list. Refine the project details and update your draft submission on buildbox.
-
Submit your project: Aim to submit your project at least a week early to allow time for proofreading and editing. Create and upload a demo video to show how your application works and how it solves the problem. Verify that your submission meets the requirements of the hackathon and ask a friend for feedback. Finally, submit the project on buidlbox BEFORE the deadline.

Celebrate your hard work and achievement!
