How do I create a hackathon?

We are glad you chose buidlbox to launch a hackathon! In this article, you will learn how to create a hackathon on buidlbox.

To create a hackathon, follow the steps below. A video tutorial is available here.

1. Log in to https://app.buidlbox.io and click the arrows next to your username at the top of the screen. When you select your Guidl, you will be taken to your Guidl Dashboard.
   
   
   
   
2. From your Guidl Dashboard, select "Create Hackathon" on the Home tab.
   
   
   
   
3. You will be prompted to fill out the following information:
   • Hackathon name & slug
   • Short & long hackathon descriptions 
   • Payment currency (note that this cannot be changed after it is set) & estimated reward amount
   • Hackathon tags
   • Hackathon location type (Virtual, In-person, or Hybrid)
   • Logo (JPEG, PNG, or GIF; 1:1; min 400x400)
   • Limits on team size
   • How team formation will work
   • Eligibility requirements (if any)
   • Who the hackathon is for
     
     
4. When finished, select “Create Hackathon” at the bottom of the form. The hackathon is now created and will appear on your Guidl Dashboard under "Your Guidl hackathons".

How to set your Hackathon LIVE

Once you hackathon has been created you need to make it Public and visible to all buidlers.
